BRIEF HISTORY
The Coming Together
At a New Year Party in January 2006, the members who now comprise Epo’o Trust looked around and realised that there was a considerable resource among them, representing a wide spectrum of professions.
A quick meeting was proposed with a broad view of exploring the possibilities of pooling this resource. It was agreed at that meeting that the group:
- Should meet regularly in order to strengthen connections and maintaining contacts.
- Should have the ultimate aim of formally coming together for the purposes of enterprise.
- Should investigate a form of entity that would be sufficiently flexible while being robust enough to pursue entrepreneurial as well as philanthropic and charitable aims.
Epo’o Forum
The group became known as Epo’o Forum. The Forum decided that it should create a Trust, which should function as the vehicle for the business entity. Membership of the Trust was initially open only to Forum members, who demonstrated their commitment by paying a small monthly subscription.
The Trustees of Epo’o Trust were to be appointed from among Forum members.
Forum Meetings
The Forum has remained active, and holds bimonthly meetings. The meetings are held in different geographical locations within the UK, each member taking turns to host in the region where they live. The host acts as chair, and oversees the venue, agenda and all administrative aspects of the meeting.
